HTSNM wishes you all a very happy Diwali season and may we all stay healthy and prosperous in coming years.
Join the Hindu Temple Society of New Mexico for a series of special poojas and celebrations as we mark the auspicious occasion of Diwali.
We invite you and your family to join us for the auspicious Diwali celebrations at the Hindu Temple Society of New Mexico (HTSNM). This year, we will be celebrating Dhanteras, Lakshmi Pooja, and Hanuman Pooja – significant rituals that bring blessings of wealth, health, and protection.
Dhanteras:
Dhanteras marks the first day of Diwali and is dedicated to Lord Dhanvantari, the god of health and well-being. On this day, it is believed that purchasing new items, particularly gold and silver, brings good fortune and prosperity. It’s a day to seek blessings for wealth and abundance in your home.
Lakshmi Pooja:
On the main Diwali day, we perform Lakshmi Pooja to honor the Goddess Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth, prosperity, and purity. During the pooja, we invite Goddess Lakshmi into our homes to bless us with material and spiritual prosperity. By lighting lamps and offering prayers, we seek her grace for a prosperous year ahead.
Hanuman Pooja:
Hanuman Pooja, observed as part of Diwali, is a way to invoke the blessings of Lord Hanuman, who symbolizes strength, protection, and devotion. Performing this pooja brings courage, removes obstacles, and ensures protection against evil forces.
Come and partake in these sacred rituals, light lamps, and immerse yourself in the divine energy of this festival. Let’s come together to celebrate Diwali and share the light, love, and joy with the entire community.
