HTSNM wishes you all a very happy Diwali season and may we all stay healthy and prosperous in coming years.
Join the Hindu Temple Society of New Mexico for a series of special poojas and celebrations as we mark the auspicious occasion of Diwali.
We invite you and your family to join us on Thursday, October 31st at 6 PM at the Hindu Temple Society of New Mexico (HTSNM) for a special celebration of Lakshmi Pooja and Saraswati Pooja (Chopda Pujan), followed by fireworks!
This sacred evening combines the blessings of two powerful goddesses:
Lakshmi Pooja:
We honor Goddess Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth, prosperity, and abundance. By performing Lakshmi Pooja, we invite her divine presence into our homes and hearts, seeking blessings for material and spiritual prosperity. This ritual is a powerful way to express gratitude and welcome new opportunities in the coming year.
Saraswati Pooja (Chopda Pujan):
Chopda Pujan is the traditional worship of account books and tools of knowledge. It is dedicated to Goddess Saraswati, the goddess of wisdom, learning, and the arts. On this day, we pray to Saraswati for success in our educational pursuits, clarity of mind, and the removal of ignorance. For businesses and students alike, this pooja marks a fresh beginning, blessing all future endeavors with success and enlightenment.
After the poojas, we will end the night with fireworks, symbolizing the victory of light over darkness and the joy of the Diwali season.
We invite you and your family to partake in this auspicious occasion, offering prayers to Lakshmi and Saraswati for wealth, wisdom, and prosperity, and celebrating the night with vibrant fireworks!
