Saturday, April 5th | Hindu Temple Society of New Mexico
Shri Ramanavami is one of the most sacred festivals in the Hindu tradition, commemorating the birth of Lord Rama, the seventh avatar of Lord Vishnu. Born on the ninth day of the Chaitra month, Lord Rama is revered as the embodiment of dharma (righteousness), ideal kingship, and unwavering devotion to truth. His life and teachings, as told in the Ramayana, continue to guide and inspire devotees across generations.
Ramanavami is not only a celebration of Lord Rama’s birth, but also a powerful reminder of the values he upheld — justice, humility, service, and spiritual strength. Observing this day is considered highly auspicious, believed to bring peace, protection, and divine blessings into the lives of devotees and their families.
At HTSNM, we will mark this sacred occasion with a traditional evening puja and rituals:
• Pujan Start: 6:00 PM
• Purnahuti Homam: 7:00 PM
• Aarti and Prashad: 7:15 PM
Sponsorship: $21
As part of this year’s observance, all sponsors will receive a 3D picture of Balak Ram from Ayodhya. Our temple priest will perform a special puja on the image, and you may take this beautiful prasadam home with you.
Let us come together to celebrate the birth of Shri Rama and invoke his blessings for harmony, strength, and spiritual upliftment.
All are welcome.
