Govardhan Puja — Annakut

Govardhan Puja, also known as Annakut (“mountain of food”), is celebrated the day after Diwali and commemorates Lord Krishna’s miraculous lifting of Govardhan Hill to shelter the residents of Vrindavan from Indra’s torrential rains. This divine act demonstrated that the Lord is the ultimate protector of his devotees and that nature itself is sustained by his grace. On this day, a mountain of food (Annakut) is offered to Lord Krishna as an expression of gratitude for his abundant blessings. It is a joyful and deeply devotional celebration of the Lord’s protection and love.

This date is noted on our temple calendar as an observance for devotees’ reference. There is no scheduled program or gathering at the temple for this occasion. Devotees are welcome to make offerings at home or during regular temple hours.
