Utpanna Ekadashi — The Birth of Ekadashi
Utpanna Ekadashi is unique among all Ekadashis — it is the day on which the goddess Ekadashi herself was born from Lord Vishnu to slay the demon Mura. For this reason, it holds special significance in the Ekadashi calendar. Observing Utpanna Ekadashi is said to grant liberation and the highest spiritual merit. The story of Ekadashi’s origin is recited on this day, and devotees fast, perform Vishnu puja, and chant his holy names with special devotion.
This date is noted on our temple calendar as an observance for devotees’ reference. There is no scheduled program or gathering at the temple for this occasion. Devotees are welcome to make offerings at home or during regular temple hours.
