Mokshada Ekadashi — Coinciding with Gita Jayanti

Mokshada Ekadashi falls on the eleventh day of the bright fortnight of Margashirsha and holds a uniquely exalted place in the Ekadashi calendar. Mokshada means “bestower of liberation” — fasting on this day is said to liberate not only the devotee but also departed ancestors from suffering. This Ekadashi is also celebrated as Gita Jayanti — the day Lord Krishna spoke the Bhagavad Gita to Arjuna on the battlefield of Kurukshetra. The confluence of Mokshada Ekadashi and Gita Jayanti makes this one of the most spiritually powerful days of the year.

This date is noted on our temple calendar as an observance for devotees’ reference. There is no scheduled program or gathering at the temple for this occasion. Devotees are welcome to make offerings at home or during regular temple hours.
