The Hindu Temple Society of New Mexico warmly invites you to celebrate the auspicious occasion of Girija Kalyanam / Shiva Vivah, the divine wedding of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. This sacred event, taking place on Saturday and Sunday, March 22nd & 23rd, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, offers devotees the opportunity to participate in powerful rituals, prayers, and chants, seeking blessings for harmony, prosperity, and marital bliss.
Event Schedule:
Saturday, March 22nd
- 10:00 AM – Abhishekam to Shiva and Parvati & Rudram Chanting
- 11:00 AM – Lalitha Sahasranama Chanting
- 11:30 AM – Arati and Lunch
(Devotees are requested to bring kumkum and pictures of Shiva and Parvati for the rituals.)
Sunday, March 23rd
- 10:00 AM – Girija Kalyanam (Sacred Wedding Ceremony)
- 10:15 AM – Welcoming Shiva (Baraat Aagaman), Ganesh Puja, Punyahavachan, Kanya Varan, Mangalashtak, Madhuparka Puja, Kanyadaan, Mangalsutra Dharana, Akshatropan, Vivah Pradhan Homam
- 12:30 PM – Maha Mangal Arati
- 1:00 PM – Vivah Mahaprasadam
