Annakut / Chappan Bhog & Hindu New Year Celebration

Join the Hindu Temple Society of New Mexico and the Gujarati Samaj of New Mexico for an evening of devotion, community, and tradition as we celebrate Annakut / Chappan Bhog and the Hindu New Year.

Date: Sunday, November 15, 2026
Time: 6:00–9:00 PM
Location: Hindu Temple, southwest corner of Zuni and Utah, Albuquerque

Come together for bhajans and a special offering of 56 food preparations to Lord Krishna, lovingly prepared by families from the Greater Albuquerque community.

The Meaning of Chappan Bhog

“Chappan Bhog” means 56 food offerings. The flyer’s lotus symbolism connects these offerings to three rings of eight, sixteen, and thirty-two petals—a total of fifty-six. The offerings include sweets and other preparations, each expressing love, gratitude, and devotion to Lord Krishna.

As we welcome the Hindu New Year, we invite you and your family to share in this celebration and seek Lord Krishna’s blessings.
