Dussehra — Vijayadashami: The Victory of Good Over Evil

Dussehra, also known as Vijayadashami, is celebrated on the tenth day of Navratri and is one of the most auspicious days in the Hindu calendar. It commemorates the victory of Lord Rama over the demon king Ravana, as told in the Ramayana, and also the victory of Goddess Durga over the buffalo demon Mahishasura. The name Dussehra itself is derived from Dasha-hara, meaning the defeat of the ten-headed Ravana. This day symbolizes the eternal truth that righteousness, devotion, and courage will always triumph over darkness and evil. It is considered an exceptionally auspicious day to begin new endeavors.

HTSNM will celebrate Vijayadashami 2026 with special puja and prayers invoking divine blessings for our community.

The specific schedule, rituals, and program details for this celebration are being finalized by our temple committee. We warmly invite all devotees and community members to join us — please check back soon or follow our announcements for confirmed timing and event details.

All are welcome. Jai Shri!
