Margashirsha Purnima

Margashirsha Purnima is the full moon of the sacred month of Margashirsha (Agrahayan), a month Lord Krishna himself exalts in the Bhagavad Gita: “Among months I am Margashirsha.” This Purnima is auspicious for Vishnu puja, Satyanarayan Katha, charity, and ancestral offerings. It is also celebrated as Dattatreya Jayanti — the appearance day of Lord Dattatreya, the divine guru who embodies the trinity of Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva. The HTSNM community observes this Purnima as a sacred closing of the spiritual calendar year.

This date is noted on our temple calendar as an observance for devotees’ reference. There is no scheduled program or gathering at the temple for this occasion. Devotees are welcome to make offerings at home or during regular temple hours.
