Parsva Ekadashi — Lord Vishnu Turns Over
Parsva Ekadashi, also known as Parivartini Ekadashi or Vamana Ekadashi, falls on the eleventh day of the bright fortnight of Bhadrapada. It is believed that on this day, Lord Vishnu — who has been resting in cosmic sleep since Devshayani Ekadashi — turns over (parsva) from one side to the other. This marks the midpoint of Chaturmas. The day is also associated with the appearance of Lord Vamana (the dwarf avatar of Vishnu) and the defeat of King Bali. Fasting on this Ekadashi is considered highly meritorious.
This date is noted on our temple calendar as an observance for devotees’ reference. There is no scheduled program or gathering at the temple for this occasion. Devotees are welcome to make offerings at home or during regular temple hours.
