Radha Ashtami — The Appearance Day of Srimati Radharani
Radha Ashtami, observed on the eighth day of the bright fortnight of Bhadrapada, celebrates the divine appearance of Srimati Radharani — the eternal consort of Lord Krishna and the embodiment of pure, selfless devotion (bhakti). In Vaishnava tradition, Radharani is revered as the highest devotee and the personification of divine love. Her love for Krishna is considered the supreme expression of the soul’s longing for God. Observing Radha Ashtami through fasting, bhajans, and puja is believed to bestow the highest spiritual merit and deepen one’s devotion to the Divine Couple.
HTSNM honors Srimati Radharani on this sacred day with prayer, kirtan, and devotional celebration in her glory.
This date is noted on our temple calendar as an observance for devotees’ reference. There is no scheduled program or gathering at the temple for this occasion. Devotees are welcome to make offerings at home or during regular temple hours.
