Why is Sharad Purnima Special?
Sharad Purnima is celebrated as the night when the moon is at its fullest strength, embodying all sixteen Kalas (phases). This auspicious occasion marks the end of the monsoon and the beginning of the harvest season—signifying abundance, health, and spiritual renewal.
Devotees observe fasts, worship Chandra Dev and Mata Lakshmi for prosperity, and prepare sweet, milk-based dishes to absorb the healing nectar of the moonlight. It is a time to come together as a community, share blessings, and nurture health, wealth, and harmony.
