Sharad Purnima — The Full Moon of Autumn

Sharad Purnima is one of the most celebrated full moon nights in the Hindu calendar, falling at the end of the monsoon season when the sky is exceptionally clear and the full moon radiates its most brilliant light. According to tradition, on this night the moon is said to rain nectar (amrit) upon the earth. It is the night of Lord Krishna’s Maharasa — the divine dance with the Gopis in Vrindavan — making it especially sacred for Vaishnava devotees. Kheer (rice pudding) is traditionally prepared and left under the moonlight overnight to absorb the moon’s healing and nourishing energy before being consumed as prasadam.

The specific schedule and program details for this observance are being finalized by our temple committee. Please check back soon or follow our announcements for confirmed timing and details.

All are welcome. Jai Shri!
