Join us at the Hindu Temple Society of New Mexico for Sharad Purnima, a festival that marks the harvest moon and the change of seasons. Celebrated on the full moon night of the Hindu month of Ashwin, Sharad Purnima is considered the brightest and most radiant full moon of the year.

In Hindu tradition, this night is believed to be filled with divine energy and blessings. It is said that Goddess Lakshmi, the goddess of prosperity and abundance, descends to bless her devotees. Many also associate this night with Lord Krishna, who is said to have performed the Maha Raas Leela under the moonlight with the gopis of Vrindavan, symbolizing joy, devotion, and the eternal bond between the divine and the devotee.

At HTSNM, the evening will be filled with prayer, reflection, and community gathering. We will come together to honor the Divine Mother, celebrate the beauty of the full moon, and share a meal as one family.
