About Shravan Somvar
Shravan (Sawan) is one of the holiest months for Lord Shiva. Mondays in this month—Somvar—are considered especially auspicious for devotion, fasting, and abhishek, the ritual bathing of the Shiva Lingam with water, milk, and sacred offerings. Observing Somvar is believed to purify the mind, cultivate discipline, and invite blessings for health, harmony, and spiritual growth. The Shodashopchar puja honors Shiva through sixteen traditional steps of worship, symbolically welcoming the divine and expressing gratitude. Joining this worship as a community deepens bhakti and strengthens the sacred bond between devotee, deity, and temple. All are welcome.
