Krishna Janmastami — Celebration of Lord Krishna’s Birth
Krishna Janmastami is one of the most joyous and widely celebrated festivals in the Hindu tradition, marking the birth of Lord Krishna — the eighth avatar of Lord Vishnu — on the eighth day (Ashtami) of the dark fortnight of Bhadrapada. Lord Krishna’s life and teachings, as immortalized in the Bhagavad Gita, continue to guide millions on the path of devotion, wisdom, and righteous living. His birth at midnight is celebrated with great devotion through fasting, bhajans, abhishekam, and the beloved tradition of the Dahi Handi — the breaking of the pot of butter.
At HTSNM, Janmastami is one of the most cherished events of the year — a night of deep devotion, joyful celebration, and community gathering in the presence of the Divine.
This date is noted on our temple calendar as an observance for devotees’ reference. There is no scheduled program or gathering at the temple for this occasion. Devotees are welcome to make offerings at home or during regular temple hours.
